Emyr Rhys' work embraces  many styles including classical, blues, jazz, folk, country, rock, dance and is borne out of a diverse musical background:

• BSc (Hons) in Music - 2(i) June 1988, The City University, London
• Associate of the Royal College of Music (ARCM)
• Instrumental study at the Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Guildhall, London  .
• Former Staff Producer for Wales’s largest independent record company - Sain Records.
• Freelance Media Composer/Musical Director since 1996
• Former member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales (tuba).
